Using Results Tools

Results Tools assist users in managing their results via a series of customizable widgets.

View By - you can display text results or multimedia results only.
Search Information – provides information about your search
Filter Results – provides the ability to narrow search results
My Projects – allows you to drag and drop search results into a project
JBI EBP Tools – allows you to run evidence-based practice (EBP) tools from JBI

Each widget can be expanded or collapsed. JavaScript users can also re-order widgets via drag and drop.

My Projects widget is being dragged to move it to another location.

Search Information widget is collapsed while View By, Filter By, My Projects, and JBI EBP Tools are in their expanded view.

You can also remove a widget from your results display by clicking Options.

From the View Results Tools dialog, you may un-check a widget to remove it from your display or check it to add it back to your display.

View By

The View By tool allows you to filter results by whether they contain multimedia or not. You can choose:

Text (to see text results only)
Multimedia (to see results that include multimedia).

Search Information

The Search Information tool provides:

User-entered search terms
Additional terms the system may have added to the search (when “include Related Terms” is selected) – the list of terms may be expanded or collapsed.
Number of results
Sort by Option – sort results with a variety of sorting options
Customize Display option – Customize the Citation View
Ovid performs a spelling check on each search term. When Ovid detects a possible spelling error, the search will be executed, but Ovid will notify you that there may be a mis-spelled term in your search. Spelling messages are displayed on the Search Information widget.

Filter By

The Filtering Tool allows you to narrow your results by a variety of criteria, including:

Relevancy (Basic Search only)
Years
Subject
Author
Journal
Resource (available for multi-file (multi-database) search)
Publication Type

My Projects

The My Projects tool allows you to drag and drop search results directly into a project.

You can also navigate to a project by selecting the hyperlinked project name, or create a new project.

JBI EBP Tools

If your organization has a subscription for any JBI evidence-based practice (EBP) tools, the JBI EBP Tools widget allows you to run the tools. If you are not already logged in to a Personal Account, you will be prompted to log in or to create a Personal Account. A tool appears in the widget only if:

Your organization has a subscription for it, and
Your Personal Account has access to it (assuming you are already logged in to your Personal Account; a tool may disappear from the widget after you log in if your organization has a subscription but your Personal Account has not been given access)
