Emailing Results

You can send your search results through email with an option to include specific fields, select citation style, include a URL, search history and annotations. You can email text or multimedia citations.

Selecting Citation Style

You can select the citation style for each citation in their output. Options for this feature include:

  • Ovid Citation
  • Ovid Labeled Citation
  • AMA
  • APA
  • Chicago (Author, Date)
  • Chicago (Humanities)
  • MLA
  • Vancouver

Include Search History

res When you select this option, the system includes your search history in the output. If you added annotations to your search history, they are included too.

Include Annotations

When this option is selected, Ovid prints all annotations associated with the citations.

res This option is only be visible to users whose group account has annotations enabled and when logged in to their personal account.

Selecting the URL option will include the URL for the Ovid Full Text (if available) or the citation (if full text unavailable), in each record.

  • The To field is required. Manually enter or type the recipient's email address in a valid standard format. If you want to send to more than one recipient, separate the email addresses by commas.
  • The Send me a copy option is unchecked by default. When ticked, Ovid sends the originator a copy of the email. This is only available when the user is logged into a personal account.
  • The Subject field is pre-populated by Ovid based on the platform from which the results were generated.
  • The user may add a Message to be included in the email. If you add a message, it will be displayed on top of the email body.
  • The Send citation list as an attachment option is not selected by default. This, when selected, includes the citations as an attachment of the email. If this option remains unchecked, citations are included in the email body.
