Browser Requirements

To use Ovid, your browser must support JavaScript, pop-ups, cookies, image maps, graphics, forms, and tables. Use one of the following minimum browsers:

For versions 24-26 of Firefox, please enable TLS 1.2 in the browser settings if this hasn't already been done.

For best performance when using the JBI EBP (evidence-based practice) tools through Ovid, we recommend Firefox (latest version preferred).

Monitor Settings

Set your monitor's resolution from 1024x768 to 1280x1024 pixels for optimal display.

In most cases, Ovid provides documents which are downloadable in PDF format. If you do not have a PDF viewer, click here to download the Adobe Reader PDF viewer.

JavaScript

Enable JavaScript for the best user experience when using Ovid.

It is strongly suggested that JavaScript be enabled in your browser options to take full advantage of Ovid’s new features. While Ovid will work without JavaScript, advanced features like “drag and drop” will not work unless JavaScript is enabled. Also, some JBI tools will not work properly, and it will not be possible to bookmark JBI tools.

Cookies

Enable cookies for the best user experience when using Ovid's new features.

If you use JBI EBP tools through Ovid, enable third-party cookies. This ensures that you can run all the tools after identifying yourself just once with your Ovid Personal Account.

If you do not enable third-party cookies, you will be asked to enter a JBI Tools username and password for each tool (only available to customers who used the tools before they became available through Ovid).

Browsing History

For best performance when using JBI EBP tools through Ovid, regularly clear the browsing history, temporary files, and cookies.
